Barcelona announced the dismissal of coach Ernesto Valverde after the meeting of the club’s board of directors, headed by Josep Maria Bartomeu, on Monday evening to discuss the fate of the coach.
The Catalan club issued an official statement in the early hours of Tuesday morning, saying: "Barcelona and Ernesto Valverde reached an agreement to end the contract between the two parties."
He added: "The club publicly expresses its gratitude to Ernesto Valverde for his efficiency
Professionalism, commitment, dedication and positive attitude always towards all members of the Barcelona family, we wish him success in the future. "
In another statement, Barcelona announced that it had reached an agreement with Kiki Sittin, the former coach of Real Betis, to become technical manager for the team for two and a half seasons, specifically until 30 June 2022.
The club added that the contracts will be signed with the new technical director at two thirty in the evening, to appear in a photo session at the "Camp Nou" stadium in the third, before the press conference in the third and a half.
Kiki Sittin, 61, has coached Real Betis over the past two seasons and led them in 97 games to win 39 games to draw in 22 games and lose in 36 matches, scoring 139 goals and conceding 143.
The conditions erupted inside the walls of the Blaugrana after the team lost at the hands of Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final last Thursday in Jeddah with a result (3-2), despite the fact that Barca was superior in the result (1-2) until the last ten minutes of the life of the meeting.

The 55-year-old took over the technical leadership of Barcelona in May 2017, and since then he has led the team in 163 games over two and a half seasons, winning 108 games, with 35 draws and 20 defeats.
It is noteworthy that Valverde was crowned with Barca in the league title last two seasons, in addition to the King’s Cup (2017-18) and the Spanish Super Cup (2018), and will leave the team at the top of the La Liga arrangement and its presence in the 16th round of the Champions League.
